Malte Liewerscheidt


Malte has been passionate about European integration for many years and strongly believes that improved communication is key for promoting a shared European identity. He studied politics, history and economics in Freiburg and Dublin as well as International Relations at the College of Europe in Bruges. Malte works as a Senior Africa Analyst with a political risk consultancy based in the UK.

Christian Grünewald


Christian studied political science, history and public law at the University of Bonn. He has been involved in several journalistic projects, gained further experience with NGOs during his studies and is currently working in communications. Promoting the European idea is one of his most important concerns, thanks to his extensive travels and an exchange semester in Stockholm, Sweden.

Lukas studied social science (sociology, economics, and political science), psychology and social policy in Bielefeld and Bremen. Callum is a British-European who studied Medicine at the University of Aberdeen in Scotland. After qualifying as a Doctor in 2014 he now works as a Research Officer with a multinational NGO in Swaziland, Southern Africa. Daniel Walker

Federica Patalano

Federica holds a Master degree in Arts and Communication at University in Milan, an Advanced Master degree in EU Law and Politics at College of Europe in Bruges, she also studied at Harvard University in Boston for her bachelor research thesis.

Federica acquired professional experience both in the business and public sector. She started her professional career in Italy as Marketing and Business development Manager in 2009. Then she spent almost 2 years working at the European Parliament in Brussels, as Parliamentary Assistant first, and then as Policy Officer at the Constitutional Affairs Committee of the Secretary General working on the implementation of the Lisbon Treaty and its implication on the EU decision making processes. She has also been appointed as Expert at the European Commission for the EACEA (2009-2014). Currently, Federica works as Regulatory Engagement Manager.

Federica has been always actively involved in civic activities and she believes that Cosmopublic provides a unique opportunity to increase and promote a European debate.

Hannah Lütkenhaus studied English and Spanish Philology at the Heinrich-Heine-University Düsseldorf. After working for some months as a teacher in a British-Spanish private school in Zaragoza, Spain, she is currently studying her Master in English and American Comparative Studies with focus on Anglophone Literature and Postcolonial Studies at Heinrich-Heine-University Düsseldorf. Ina studied German and French Literature and Translation (French and English) in Düsseldorf and finished her Master Thesis in Literary Translation Studies in 2011. Maciej Wilga

Born in Poland, Maciej passed the Polish and German A-level exams. After studying two majors of Political Science and English/American philology at the University of Potsdam, Germany, Maciej absolved a trilingual (French, English and German) postgraduate studies programme in European Integration, International Relations and federalism in Nice, France. He wrote his Ph.D. Dissertation on the institutional development of the Common Foreign and Security Policy of the EU at the University of Southern Denmark, Odense.
Maciej has been a strong supporter of the European integration ever since and had been strongly involved in the European Movement as well as in different scientific networks. He also published on the European Integration process and has been teaching European integration and EU external relations at universities in Denmark, Germany and Austria. As a founder of the German-Swedish meet-up group in Berlin, he is also active in several Scandinavian networks.

Manuel Valenciano-Marx studied economics at Carlos III University in Madrid and holds a master`s degree in economics from the College of Europe in Bruges. He is currently working in public sector consulting at a Madrid-based consultancy, which specialises in European projects. Born in the seaport of Gdansk in nothern Poland, Peter grew up in Germany and studied history, communication studies and political science at the universities of Bonn and Berlin. Born in Austria, Philipp considers himself a true European living the motto “Home is where the heart is” – or more philosophically, he tries to live according to the mantra of the ancient Roman philosopher Seneca: “Non sum ulli angulo natus, patria mea totus hic mundus est.” After studying Political Science in Vienna, Stockholm and Munich, Philipp moved to Berlin where he currently contributes to gaining a better mutual understanding of financial and economic politics between Germany and Austria.
