Malte Liewerscheidt

Malte has been passionate about European integration for many years and strongly believes that improved communication is key for promoting a shared European identity. He studied politics, history and economics in Freiburg and Dublin as well as International Relations at the College of Europe in Bruges. Malte works as a Senior Africa Analyst with a political risk consultancy based in the UK.

Christian Grünewald

Christian studied political science, history and public law at the University of Bonn. He has been involved in several journalistic projects, gained further experience with NGOs during his studies and is currently working in communications. Promoting the European idea is one of his most important concerns, thanks to his extensive travels and an exchange semester in Stockholm, Sweden.

Daniel Rätz

Daniel grew up in Cologne and Munich and earned his Master's degree at the University of Bonn. His enthusiasm for the European idea was sparked through a semester abroad in the Swedish capital of Stockholm as part of the ERASMUS exchange program. He gained journalistic experience through various internships and worked as a PR consultant at several leading public relations agencies. Currently, he works as a PR manager at an association representing the interests of the automotive industry and lives in Frankfurt a.M.

Benno Gross

Benno studied political science, history and public law at the University of Bonn with a focus on the history of European politics. Inter alia, he did several internships in the field of international humanities and public relations. With a background in computer programming, Eva studied International Relations and Politics at the University of Essex in the UK, and EU International Relations and Diplomacy Studies at the College of Europe in Bruges. Eva worked in the public sector as part of the Permanent Representation of Romania to the EU and at SQUARIS Consultants in Brussels. Currently, Eva works as a Consultant at Luther Pendragon Brussels with a focus on energy, environment and transport.

Lukas Plewnia

Lukas studied social science (sociology, economics, and political science), psychology and social policy in Bielefeld and Bremen. He is a follower of the Polish-German reconciliation; therefore he took part in an internship at the German Embassy in Warsaw and in the international internship program at the Polish parliament. Now, Lukas is working as writer in an internet company. Beside his work, he conducts German blogs with Polish news for a better understanding of Poland in Germany.

Marco Jelic

Marco studied Italian and Spanish philology, as well as political sciences at the University of Bonn. He gained varied journalistic experience at the public service TV- and radio-stations WDR, SWR and Deutsche Welle, currently he is working as freelancer. Due to his Romance Studies he spent eight months at the University of Florence. His multicultural, italo-croatian background is one reason more for him to bring forward the idea of a closer European integration.

Marco Just Quiles

Marco Just Quiles studied Political Science, Social Science and Constitutional Law at Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität Bonn. He holds a Master degree in Interdisciplinary Latin American Studies from Freie Universität Berlin where he is currently pursuing a PhD in Political Economy with focus on fiscal and welfare politics. Among others he has been interning as researcher at Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung (FES), country office Ecuador and United Nations Department of Social and Economic Affairs (UN DESA), headquarters in New York. His Spanish-German background and his conviction for the European idea constitute the motives for the engagement within Cosmopublic.eu.

Raycho Penchev

Raycho studied political science at the University of Sofia and at the University of Freiburg (Germany) emphasizing the process of European integration. After that he continued studying German, European and Global politics at the University of Bonn (Germany). His major interests are the pre- and after-accession period of the Bulgarian EU-membership and the political process in the EU. Due to his Bulgarian background and his studies he believes that “networked” is the best word to describe the Europeans.

Alice Greschkow, born in Sofia (Bulgaria), grew up in Germany and finished her Bachelor degree in Politcal Science and Communication Science in Germany and Spain. She is currently studying the Master's Degree Global Studies in Poland and Denmark and considers herself simply as a European. Her major interests are European integration and international security. Anja Berger

Anja Berger has studied Political Science and Languages in Düsseldorf and Rome and also lived in France for some months. She has the impression that even if as Europeans we are living in everyday contact with people from our neighbour states, there is still some lack of comunication and understanding between the single nationalities. Anne-Kristin studies Finnish studies and Romance languages and literatures with focus on Spanish and French at the University of Cologne and the University of Seville. Callum Pierce

Callum is a British-European who studied Medicine at the University of Aberdeen in Scotland. After qualifying as a Doctor in 2014 he now works as a Research Officer with a multinational NGO in Swaziland, Southern Africa. His main research interests lie at the interface between politics, international relations, anthropology and health. Daniel Walker

Daniel graduated from Exeter University, England, in German with Mathematics in 2014 and then moved to Frankfurt am Main, Germany, for an internship with an educational publisher. Since April 2015 he has been working as a freelance editor, based in Frankfurt.

Federica Patalano

Federica holds a Master degree in Arts and Communication at University in Milan, an Advanced Master degree in EU Law and Politics at College of Europe in Bruges, she also studied at Harvard University in Boston for her bachelor research thesis.

Federica acquired professional experience both in the business and public sector. She started her professional career in Italy as Marketing and Business development Manager in 2009. Then she spent almost 2 years working at the European Parliament in Brussels, as Parliamentary Assistant first, and then as Policy Officer at the Constitutional Affairs Committee of the Secretary General working on the implementation of the Lisbon Treaty and its implication on the EU decision making processes. She has also been appointed as Expert at the European Commission for the EACEA (2009-2014). Currently, Federica works as Regulatory Engagement Manager.

Federica has been always actively involved in civic activities and she believes that Cosmopublic provides a unique opportunity to increase and promote a European debate.

Hannah Lütkenhaus

Hannah Lütkenhaus studied English and Spanish Philology at the Heinrich-Heine-University Düsseldorf. After working for some months as a teacher in a British-Spanish private school in Zaragoza, Spain, she is currently studying her Master in English and American Comparative Studies with focus on Anglophone Literature and Postcolonial Studies at Heinrich-Heine-University Düsseldorf. As a scholar of foreign languages and literature Hannah's ambition for Cosmopublic.eu is based on her interest in promoting the comprehension and mediation of European cultural values.

Ina Berger

Ina studied German and French Literature and Translation (French and English) in Düsseldorf and finished her Master Thesis in Literary Translation Studies in 2011. In the course of her studies she spent one semester in Salonika (Greece) and another one in Nantes (France) and gained experience in Franco-German cultural exchange interning in the Franco-German Cultural Centre of Nantes. Ivan Yanakiev

Ivan studied Political Science in Freiburg with a focus on European politics and Economics. Maciej Wilga

Born in Poland, Maciej passed the Polish and German A-level exams. After studying two majors of Political Science and English/American philology at the University of Potsdam, Germany, Maciej absolved a trilingual (French, English and German) postgraduate studies programme in European Integration, International Relations and federalism in Nice, France. He wrote his Ph.D. Dissertation on the institutional development of the Common Foreign and Security Policy of the EU at the University of Southern Denmark, Odense.
Maciej has been a strong supporter of the European integration ever since and had been strongly involved in the European Movement as well as in different scientific networks. He also published on the European Integration process and has been teaching European integration and EU external relations at universities in Denmark, Germany and Austria. As a founder of the German-Swedish meet-up group in Berlin, he is also active in several Scandinavian networks.

Manuel Valenciano Marx

Manuel Valenciano-Marx studied economics at Carlos III University in Madrid and holds a master`s degree in economics from the College of Europe in Bruges. He is currently working in public sector consulting at a Madrid-based consultancy, which specialises in European projects. Previously, Manuel gained insights into policy formulation and SME finance during internships at the Council of the European Union and the European Investment Bank. Manuel is a strong supporter of European integration in order to secure future prosperity. However, he also acknowledges that more and better communication is needed to convince Europe’s citizens of the benefits of the European project.

Peter Sawicki

Born in the seaport of Gdansk in nothern Poland, Peter grew up in Germany and studied history, communication studies and political science at the universities of Bonn and Berlin. Furthermore he attended the National University of Singapore and University College London as part of various student exchange programs. Having a genuine passion for writing, Peter has striven for a career in journalism since his schooldays. He has gained journalism experience primarily at broadcast media including WDR, Deutsche Welle and Deutschlandradio Kultur. He is a freelance journalist based in Berlin, while his specific family background has ever since motivated him to promote the European idea.

Philipp Gmoser

Born in Austria, Philipp considers himself a true European living the motto “Home is where the heart is” – or more philosophically, he tries to live according to the mantra of the ancient Roman philosopher Seneca: “Non sum ulli angulo natus, patria mea totus hic mundus est.” After studying Political Science in Vienna, Stockholm and Munich, Philipp moved to Berlin where he currently contributes to gaining a better mutual understanding of financial and economic politics between Germany and Austria. Sarah Onkels

Sarah has a master degree in Scandinavian Studies and is currently working as a research assistant at the Department for Scandinavian Languages and Cultures of Bonn University. Among other things Sarah has a background in organizing non-commercial film festivals (Skandinavische Filmtage Bonn) and doing translation works during her studies. After finishing her Phd she aims to work as a researcher within Scandinavian medieval studies and translator for Swedish and Finnish.

Silvia studied Hungarian Language, Literature and History, Political and Social Sciences in Berlin and Pécs. She also participated within the programme for literary translators at the Balassi Institute in Budapest.
